La Grande Saison
No. 01L'Adhésion

Two ways in.
Both by invitation.

Membership stops at 140 and is given by referral. There is no waiting list in the usual sense — there is a conversation each autumn, and a small number of places.

No. 01L'adhésion

Membre

By referral · annual

The Season, kept. For a collector or patron whose year already has a shape and needs someone to hold it.

  • The calendar, issued each December for the year following
  • Placement across two houses per season
  • Preview and vernissage credentials at the majors
  • Auction representation — room, telephone or absentee
  • Four scheduled conversations, and the bureau between them
  • Private collection and atelier visits, secured by request
No. 02Le patronage

Patron

By application · annual

For those building something — a collection with a thesis, a foundation, a commissioning programme — rather than attending a year.

Settled privately

  • Everything held under Membre, without seasonal limits
  • A named principal at the bureau and a second on call
  • Commission brokering: brief, fee, rights and installation
  • Advisory on acquisition strategy across the sales calendar
  • Institutional and foundation introductions
  • Board, curator and conservator liaison where required
No. 02Les ConditionsPlainly stated

No waiting list.
A conversation.

Referral
Names come from members, or from a house, dealer, specialist or institution we already work with. We do not accept direct application to Membre.
The reading
Files for the coming year are read from September. We take on a small number each autumn, and occasionally none.
Fees
An annual fee, invoiced from Paris, quoted after the first conversation. Dues are settled privately. No commission is taken from any house, gallery, fair or auction room.
Term
Membership runs the calendar year and renews by agreement in November. It may be paused for a season without loss of place.

If your name has been put forward, the bureau is expecting to hear from you.

Write with the name of the person who referred you. A first conversation takes an hour, in Paris or London, or on a call if the season makes that easier.
